Gone Girl

Wow!
You wear it well, Ben.

Couldn't finish the book before seeing the movie, but I'm still going to read it. It'll probably be even better although I loved the movie. Fucked up shit.

Clubbin'

...and it doesn't involve seals.

Saved this song on my YouTube channel to listen to later on. Well, it's later on and here it is:

Reminds me of my younger days at some sad gay dance bar downtown. Maybe the locale wasn't sad, but the idea of it being the only place I could go to make friends and some such crap like that. *sigh*

Fortune Cookie Chronicles # 1

Whenever I eat Chinese food, I collect the slips that come with my fortune cookies. I've had this idea about writing down what each little piece of paper says, but just haven't gotten around to it. I think they are often profound and absurd at the same time.  I'll try to use all of them, but only write about them sparingly.

Missing France

OK, so it used to be that every time fall rolled around I would get blue because old break-ups, family deaths, and other such nonsense. They all seemed to occur during this season.

So, while I was walking around my neighborhood this evening, my mind drifted to thoughts of France. I realized I'm not feeling blue, but, instead, I'm longing. I'm longing for all things French. I don't need to go there soon, but I like to think about it now and then.

I've been to France twice now and I've loved my visits. I loved walking the streets of Paris, the halls of Versailles, and driving through the countryside. I actually loved the people. There was only one time when a French person was not-so-nice and that was when I tried taking a picture of magazine porn at one of those kiosks along the Seine. Whoah! Don't ever do that. (be warned)

So while this video doesn't show much of France, it does convey what I feel when I think of France. No, not stomach cramps or delirium, just a longing.
